    Mission Statement

    The District of Peachland exists to provide affordable, quality local services to taxpayers, residents, and businesses. Council engages the community in two-way exchanges to fully understand the communitys needs and aspirations Councils decisions for and on behalf of the community are based on this understanding.

    A movie will be filming in Peachland next week. Community impacts/shoot locations are as follows: June 24-25 Inglis Place (private residence), June 24 14th Street dock, frontage of District office and back staff parking lot, June 25 dock adjacent 4050 Beach Avenue, June 24-26 portable washroom located at 4080 Beach Avenue for the film crews and June 26-27 (2-night overnight shoot) Gasthaus dock, Rotary clock park and back District staff parking lot. The film crew is responsible for neighbour notification. The District will post signage for parking/dock and sidewalk closures. As the movie is set in the 1980s, residents are asked to keep newer model cars away from site locations. Site locations will have a truck, motorhome and tents for holding talent and crew. For additional information, contact the production manager at 604.313.4192.
    The boat launch will remain open but access will be limited. One side of the launch will be open (with the existing dock) but boats cannot be launched or removed when there is active pile driving occurring. The contractor will try to accommodate boaters but boaters are recommended to use the 8th Street Boat Launch. We expect construction to begin on Tuesday, June 22 and should wrap up before the weekend. For more information, please contact the Public Works office at 250.767.2108.
    The Sports Box at Turner Ave has been cleaned up and made ready for Hockey and Basketball. Nets are in place... Ready for sticks, pucks and slam dunks!
    The District of Peachland is experiencing longer than normal wait times due to abnormally high volumes of building permit applications. The Peachland Planning & Development Department is now posting regular updates on the status of submitted building applications.
    Interior Health's mobile immunization clinic will be providing COVID-19 vaccinations to people in the Peachland area who are born in 2009 or earlier, and who have not yet received their first dose. The clinic will be at Cousins Park (4450 6th St) on Wed, Jun 9, and Thu, Jun 10 from 8 am-6 pm. No appointment is necessary.

    Green Communities Climate Action Recognition Program
    As a signatory to the Climate Action Charter (Charter), the District of Peachland has demonstrated its commitment to work with the Province and the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) to take action on climate change and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in its corporate operations and the broader community.

    As a Charter signatory that has achieved Level 1 and Level 2 recognition, and demonstrated significant climate action (corporately or community-wide) to reduce GHG emissions for the 2018 reporting year, Peachland has been awarded Level 3 recognition - 'Accelerating Progress on Charter Commitments'.
